'Sharpening the Saw' is an old saying referring to the stupidity of continuing
to try to cut down a tree with a blunt saw because you are too busy to sharpen
it !! In this case you are sharpening YOUR MIND
Get enough sleep.
Unfortunately there is no proven way to decrease your need for it and there
is no evidence that you can 'sleep learn', though it IS thought that your
brain is consolidating information sometimes when you are dreaming. Average
people need around 8 hours per day If you do not sleep well enough, you
will not learn as well.
Do moderate exercise.
Most authorities say that you should be doing a minimum of 20 mins of aerobic
exercise 3 times per week.
REMEMBER THAT 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE PER DAY IS WORTHWHILE. THE KEY IS TO
DO SOMETHING.
Eat healthy meals (adequate mix of foods incl. enough fibre), don't smoke
and drink in moderation.
Do the simple things - brush, floss.
Spend quality time with those you value in your life.
Regularly remind yourself of why you like who you are and what you stand
for.
